USDA official visits Chicago State University

The United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) Deputy Secretary Krysta Harden, the second highest-ranking official in the USDA, recently visited Chicago State University. She came to CSU to meet with President Wayne Watson and members of the faculty and staff as well as to discuss some of the academic programs happening at CSU that relate to agriculture. Harden was particularly impressed after receiving a tour of the CSU Aquaponics Center, a cutting-edge facility maintained by Dr. Emmanuel Pratt, which gives CSU students and local high school students hands-on lessons in urban farming, food sustainability and nutrition.
